United Church Of Christ Of Chicago Ridding Families Medical Debt
The United Church of Christ churches in Chicago have joined together with RIP Medical Debt to help struggling families eliminate medical debt. Together the places of worship have eliminated over $5.3 million in medical debt impacting nearly 6,000 Illinois families. (Joy 107.1)
According to the Christian Post, the UCC national church body has dedicated this year’s Giving Tuesday to the cause of erasing medical debt nationwide. In Chicago, local church leaders have raised over $38,000 that was used to purchase medical debt of nearly 6000 families. (Christian Post)
RIP Medical Debt is a 501(c)(3) charity that has abolished $715 million in medical debt for about 240,000 Americans.
