Metro Detroit Hospitals Asking Community To Donate Gear To Protect Health Care Workers And Patients From COVID-19
Below is a list of hospitals that are in need of donations and ways you can donate…*Please note: Donors who are not feeling well should wait until they feel better to donate.
Beaumont Hospital
You can place items in a donation bin located outside the Beaumont Service Center’s main entrance through Saturday, March 28. Community members will be able to drive up and place needed supplies and materials in the bins 24/7.
This is the only location where Beaumont will accept COVID-19 donations – Service Center: 26901 Beaumont Blvd, in Southfield.
*Most-Needed Personal Protective Equipment:
-New/unused disposable face masks
-N-95 mask (referred to as respirators)
-Eye protection including face shields & safety goggles
-Disposable gowns
-Disposable gloves & non-latex gloves
-Disposable surgical caps
-Disposable foot covers
-Wipes: bleach or anti-microbial
-Hand-sanitize
*Specialized items:
-PAPRs (powered air purifying respirators) and PAPR hoods
-Nasal testing swabs
-Viral testing kits
Henry Ford Health System
You can drop off new and unused medical supplies at shipping & receiving docks at Henry Ford’s corporate offices in Detroit and Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson. Drop-off times are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sundays, starting on March 22, and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Oakland County
Starting Monday, Oakland County will accept donations of masks, face shields, surgical gowns, surgical gloves, no-touch thermometers, and respirators at the Oakland County Farmers Market at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road in Waterford, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Oakland County will pick up any donated equipment on the list for those who are unable to drop off donations at the Farmers Market
University of Michigan Hospitals
*New or unused:
-Disposable face masks
-N95 masks, sometimes called respirators
-Eye protection including face shields and safety goggles
-Disposable gowns
-Disposable gloves, especially non-latex
-Disposable surgical caps
-Disposable foot covers
-Wipes: bleach or antimicrobial
-Hand sanitizer
More specialized items:
-PAPRs (powered air-purifying respirators) and PAPR hoods
-Nasal testing swabs
-Viral testing kits
You can donate them, Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. & Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the donation center at 2800 Plymouth Rd., Ann Arbor, 48109 which is set back from Plymouth Road & Huron Parkway. Donors will not need to get out of their cars if they prefer not to.
