Today is National Rescue Dog Day!

If you've always wanted to rescue a dog, you have plenty of options in the Detroit area.

Detroit Dog Rescue is Detroit's first and only no-kill shelter. Their website offers information on available dogs, how to donate if simply like to send them some cash and much more. Find them here.

The Michigan Humane Society Detroit is a great source to adopt a pet and give him or her a new home. They're located on Chrysler Drive in Detroit, and you can reach them here.

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit is another place to go to adopt a pet, volunteer or donate. Find information on them here.

Rebel Dogs Detroit also has lots of information about how to adopt their dogs and more on their website here.

These are just a few of the many animal shelters across the metro Detroit area!
