He grew up without many means. Tupac was born on June 16, 1971, in Harlem. His mother, Afeni, was raising her family alone, and the family experienced struggles and hardships when it came to money.

Tupac has gone platinum-- many time. He released 11 platinum albums, four of which were during his career, and the rest posthumously.

He had acting creds, too. Tupac appeared in several movies, including starring roles alongside Janet Jackson and other superstars.

Tupac's murder was never solved. He was gunned down in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, and passed away six days later. But his murder was never officially solved.
