Lee Daniels is reviving the ABC series The Wonder Years from a different perspective.

The reboot will take place in the late 60’s early 70’s much like the original but will be set in Montgomery, Alabama and feature a Black family.

Fred Savage, who played the part of Kevin Arnold, will direct the pilot and the show will air on ABC and hit the screen sometime 2021-2022.

Danica (Winnie Cooper) McKellar expressed her excitement on social media after hearing the news saying, “I can’t wait to see what he & @leedanielsent create. I have no doubt it will both honor the original show & do justice to the realities of growing up black in 1960’s.

Your thoughts on the reboot idea?
