SC Petition seeks Confederate statue removal & replaced with hometown hero Chadwick Boseman
An effort is underway in Anderson to commemorate Anderson native and ‘Black Panther’ actor Chadwick Boseman with a statue downtown. Fans also left a small memorial display at T.L. Hannah High School, where Boseman was a student.
The petition has 6,500 signatures so far saying in part, “With Chadwick Boseman’s early passing, it is important that we honor a true local legend, my immortalizing him in stone in front of the courthouse. Continuing, The old statue need not be destroyed; however, with the engravings on the base, it is beyond time for its retirement. It should preserve history, but not honor the ideals for which the Confederacy stood.” (Source: CBS17.com)

Randi enjoys writing about the city of Detroit, faith, and the community.
