BET’s 22nd Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration Set for This Weekend
The 22nd annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will air on BET during Super Bowl LV weekend on Saturday (Feb. 6) at 7 p.m CST, and the show will boast an appearance by PJ Morton.
Morton is a pianist, singer and songwriter, who has not only maintained a successful solo career but is also a member of Maroon 5.
In the latest news, Morton was also announced as a 2021-22 artist in residence for Dillard University.
The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will bein with an opening prayer by author and Pastor Mike Todd. The theme of the show will be “Nothing Can Stop Us.”
Rickey Smiley will host the show. Also expect performances by The NFL Players Choir, Erica Campbell, Voices of Fire presented by Pharrell Williams, PJ Morton, Kierra Sheard, Koryn Hawthorne, Zacardi Cortez and an exclusive performance by gospel music favorite John P. Kee. The show will also feature appearances from a collection of NFL players, and Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson will be presented with the “Faith In Action Award.”
In conjunction with the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, the American Cancer Society will put the spotlight on cancer prevention and treatment in the Black community during the show. Viewers may donate during the show on BET by texting HOPE to 20222 to donate $10 to the American Cancer Society.
