Chrissy Teigen has deleted her popular Twitter account, saying the social networking site no longer serves a positive role in her life, the Associated Press reports.

The model and TV personality announced that she would be leaving the site in a series of tweets last night writing, “Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends.”

She added, “But it’s time to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”

She continued in the thread, “My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don’t is too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not,” adding in a following tweet, “My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human. Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you,” she concluded.

Teigen’s Twitter account had more than 13.7 million followers, popular for its mix of jokes about her husband John Legend and their kids, funny observations about assorted topics, and savage snap backs to those who criticized her on the site.

Last night, she wrote that she’s experienced so many attacks from low-follower accounts that she’s “deeply bruised.”

Last year, Teigen shared the anguish that she and her husband shared of a miscarriage on the site, posting a sorrowful photo of her in the hospital. Another image showed her and Legend grieving over a bundle cradled in her arms.

While her complete openness about the loss of their son received a lot of praise online, some criticized her for putting such painful moments on social media.

In one of her final posts, she told her followers to “never forget that your words matter.”

Teigen’s Instagram account remains active, with 34.4 million followers.
