Happy Cinco de Mayo! We have so many great Mexican restaurants throughout metro Detroit. Read on for a few of our favorites. What's your choice spot to get a Mexican meal?

El Asador Steakhouse

Location: 1312 Springwells St., Detroit

El Asador Steakhouse is one of southwestern Detroit's most beloved spots. They take a fresh approach to Mexican Cusine and "believe that good food is an ingredient in itself, and it should be treated with awe and love," according to their official website. We love their Original Taco, featuring ground beef or shredded chicken, hard corn or soft flour tortilla shell topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, sour cream and cheese.

El Barzón Restaurante

Location: 3710 Junction St., Detroit

El Barzon Restaurante has been rocking it in the Motor City since 2007. They offer both traditional Mexican and Italian dishes, so there's truly something for everyone. We love the Chiles Rellenos, a poblano pepper filed with ground beef or cheese finished with their homemade tomato sauce.

Galindo's A Taste of Mexico

Location: 13754 Fort St., Southgate

Galindo's is getting in on the Cinco de Mayo spirit, offering delivery from noon until 9 p.m. in Southgate and Wyandotte, according to their Facebook page. We love their Santa Fe Burrito, with a flour tortilla, chicken, oaxacan cheese, sautéed peppers, onions, spanish rice, pico de gallo and sour cream. Oh, my!

Manuel's Taco Hut

Location: 16806 Ecorse Road, Allen Park

Manuel has been a staple of southeastern Michigan since 1987. Our pick is their Burrito Dinner, with beans and cheese, choice of ground beef, chicken or pork. Yum!

Taqueria Mi Pueblo

Location: 7278 Dix St., Detroit

Taqueria Mi Pueblo pride themselves on delivering, "The Authentic Flavor of Mexico." The restaurant features truly authentic Mexican food, with their homemade salsa and tacos a fave. Our pick? The Botana, featuring corn tortilla chips topped with plenty of fixings.
