Michigan's top baby names of 2020 have arrived.

According to the Social Security Administration, the most popular girl name in Michigan for the year was Charlotte, followed by Amelia, Olivia, Ava and Emma.

For boys, Oliver was the most popular name in Michigan, followed by Noah, Liam, Henry and Elijah.

The fastest growing boys names of 2020, according to the agency, are Zyair, Jaxtyn, Jakobe, Kylo and Aziel. The fastest growing girls names are Avayah, Denisse, Jianna, Capri and Rosalia.

The Social Security Administration started releasing its baby name lists in 1997, and the names go back to 1880. When a baby is born, the parents give the agency the baby's name when getting a Social Security card, which is why the agency has the data.
