Labor Day weekend often means travel, and MDOT is stopping work on the majority of its projects - around 60% - this weekend to help travelers.

Starting at 3 p.m. Friday, 83 of 147 projects across Michigan will remove all lane restrictions. They will go back in place at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

The Mackinac Bridge also will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Labor Day for the annual bridge walk. Those traveling on southbound I-75 and US-2 will find traffic stopped at Exit 344 on the north side of the bridge, and those traveling on northbound I-75 will find traffic stopped at Exit 337 on the south end.

For current information on MDOT projects, head to the Mi Drive website at www.Michigan.gov/Drive. Find all things Michigan traffic via https://www.michigan.gov/MDOT.
