Metro Detroit’s Popular Drive-In Theatre to Increase Prices!
The Ford Wyoming Drive-in Movie Theatre located in Dearborn, will be soon increasing their admission prices. Starting Friday, October 15th, America’s largest Drive-in will begin charging $26 PER vehicle instead of the usual $12.50 per person pricing that most moviegoers are accustomed to. This will be the nostalgic hangout’s second price increase this year, having dealt with closures in the last year due to the pandemic.
The price hike was announced on the theatre’s official Facebook page earlier this week and let’s just say that there were a few unhappy campers. While some patrons were pleased that they no longer have to sneak in 9-screen theatre via someone’s trunk anymore to avoid paying their share, there were some in the comment section planning to no longer attend the theatre due to the increase.
The theatre, which has been in business for over 70 years, will still be honoring passes that were purchased prior. According to the Drive-in’s website, to allow for social distancing, the Ford Wyoming is still operating at half capacity until further notice. Only one car is permitted between two speaker poles. Face masks are voluntary both indoors and outside.
The Ford Wyoming Drive-in Theatre is at located 10400 Ford Road Dearborn, MI 48126. For more info about prices or to purchase tickets, potential moviegoers can purchase passes online via the theatre’s website at www.forddrivein.com
