Will Smith’s ‘Welcome To Earth,’ ‘The Proud Family’: Watch The Trailers
Disney+ has dropped a bunch of cool trailers today, as part of “Disney+ Day”: Will Smith’s Welcome to Earth, the reboot of the 2001 animated series The Proud Family, and Sneakerella.
Will Smith’s Welcome to Earth, is a six-part limited series by National Geographic that will be debuting on Disney+ on Dec. 8.
The actor, who will be led by professional explorers into caves and deserts for the series, was frightened by the experience, “They managed to terrify me every single episode,” the actor said, per ABC7 Chicago. “I think that’s part of the plan they have. I told them I wanted to do something, and do things that people had never done before, and Nat Geo for sure delivered.” Check out the trailer below:
Disney+ also has something in store for long-time fans of the animated series The Proud Family.
The Proud Family reboot named The Proud Family Louder and Prouder brings back the original cast members including Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, her parents voiced by Tommy Davidson and Paula Jai Parker, Penny’s uncle, Uncle Bobby and grandmother, Suga Mama, voiced by Cedric the Entertainer and Jo Marie Payton, respectively.
The series will have star-studded guest appearances from Normani, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Tiffany Haddish, Tina Knowles-Lawson, Jaden Smith, and more, per Cosmopolitan. No word yet on if Solange will lend her vocals to the theme song again (or if they’ll reuse the original one) but we will be watching! The Proud Family Louder and Prouder will be available to stream starting Feb. 2022. Check out the trailer below:
Disney+ is debuting Sneakerella, a (cough) sole-ful twist on the Disney classic Cinderella.
The musical stars Chosen Jacobs (Castle Rock) and Lexi Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere), and will be available to stream on the platform starting Friday, Feb. 18. Sneakerella is set in the “the avant-garde street-sneaker subculture of New York City” and Jacobs as El, is an aspiring sneaker designer from Queens who works as a stock boy in the shoe store owned by his late mother, per TVLine. El hopes to get his sneakers noticed by the “princess” of sneaker culture Kira (Underwood) who upon first meeting instantly sparks a connection. Check out the trailer below:
