Michigan Has One of the Best Cities for Book Lovers in America
Winter is a great time to curl up with a book and read, preferably wrapped in a warm blanket. As it turns out, Michigan has one of the best cities for book lovers in the entire country. I actually didn’t get any books for Christmas, which is odd for me, but I’m way behind on the ones I have so should be set through the winter.
The folks at Lawn Love have ranked 2022’s Best Cities for Book Lovers. “We compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on access to public libraries, bookstores, Little Free Libraries, book clubs, and events,” they state on their website.
They also looked for cities with the most books “in the wild,” meaning “random reads picked up by random bookworms who can track the books’ journey and engage with other bibliophiles on BookCrossing.” They put the report together and crafter a master list.
So, what city is on top in Michigan? According to the study, Grand Rapids is the best city for book lovers in Michigan and one of the best in the country, coming in at No. 28 on the list with an overall score of 19.36. Detroit was also on the list at No. 131. Not bad, Michigan! What’s your favorite book? Hit me up and let me know!
