The Randi Myles Show

Weekdays 10am-3pm

Royal Oak activist, photographer and Mom LaKeesha Morrison, wanted another way to get her kids involved in Black History Month more than the typical… you know… “I have a dream. ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr,” “I was the conductor of the Underground Railroad for eight years… ~Harriet Tubman” and “I prayed for freedom for twenty years, but received no answer until I prayed with my legs. ~Frederick Douglass.”

So, when the city she calls home asked to help with their Black History display, she came up with a creative way to make Black History come alive. She casted children from the Royal Oak School District to take pictures recreating black history pioneers like Ruby Bridges, Maya Angelou and even Misty Copeland. (Source: Detroit Free Press)
