This Michigan City is One of the Best Places to Live in America
Who would have thought that one of the best places to live in the entire country is right here in Michigan? According to a just-released study, it’s true. I’m actually not surprised. In my opinion, Michigan is one of the best states to live in throughout America. We have all the seasons, which is great (although I could do without winter), and there are lots of things to do in Michigan year-round.
A new study out names one Michigan city as one of the best places to live in the entire U.S. It’s great to know that others appreciate what Michigan has to offer!
Niche has released the its annual list of the Best Places to Live for 2022, which ranks the best cities and communities to live in using an array of criteria. “The Best Places to Live ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area,” Niche states in the study. “This grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area. Learn where our data comes from.”
So, which Michigan city is one of the best places to live in America? According to the Niche, that city is Okemos, which is a suburb of Lansing, just east of the city. Okemos came in as the overall No. 12 best place to live in the country. “Living in Okemos offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes,” Niche states. “In Okemos, there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals live in Okemos and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Okemos are highly rated.” If you’re curious, Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, was at No. 1 on the tally.
