The Marvin Sapp Biopic Is A Love Story & Lasting Legacy

I had the honor to moderate an exclusive preview of Never Would Have Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story, hosted by Comcast and TV One at Emagine Theater in Royal Oak and WOW… I learned a lot about Marvin Sapp’s journey.

The movie Never Would Have Made It: The Marvin Sapp Story is a abbreviated look at Bishop Sapp’s upbringing in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is transparent about his battle against substance abuse as a teen, his no nonsense mom, Sapp’s unwavering love for his beloved wife MaLinda, rise in the music industry, and growth in his faith.

The movie stars Chaz Lamar Shepherd (“Marvel’s Luke Cage”, “The Game”) as Marvin Sapp and Ambre Anderson (“Power Book II” “Manifest Evil”) joining him as Sapp’s wife, MaLinda Prince Sapp and premieres Sunday, August 21st at 9/8c on TV One.

Randi Myles is the mid-day host on Detroit’s Praise Network. Later she would sing in church and college choirs. However, it wasn’t until she attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts, that Ms. Myles would find her true voice.
