Famous Footwear, Ticket to Dream Foundation Join Forces for Holiday Shopping Spree
Famous Footwear has teamed up with Ticket to Dream Foundation for the holiday season to give foster kids everyday essentials, shoes and cheer.
According to a press release, Famous Footwear and Ticket to Dream Foundation are co-hosting five events across the country on Saturday, Nov. 5, to provide over 300 foster youth the unique opportunity to pick any pair of shoes, pack of socks and even shop for two of their friends or family. Locally, the shopping spree will be held at the Famous Footwear in Allen Park.
“The hope of this event is to make them feel special and, in some cases, provide a once in a lifetime experience of selecting their own new items from an array of great brands that Famous carries,” a press release states.
“Famous Footwear Shopping days are an absolute joy,” Gina Davis, CEO, Ticket to Dream Foundation, said in a statement. “Many foster youth have never owned a new pair of shoes or had the opportunity to shop for themselves. These events are filled with running feet and smiles, helping to boost self-esteem,” Davis said.
“It is the season for giving and we are so proud to be able to host these shopping sprees and help spread some cheer,” said Mike Edwards Division President, Famous Footwear. “We have hosted more than 20 shopping sprees in partnership with Ticket To Dream and they are a meaningful way for our store associates to give back, our associates’ smiles are as big as those they are helping.”
