Michigan Weather Going from the 70s to 20s – Here’s Where
Is it really November in Michigan? It hasn’t felt like it lately, and I’ve personally loved the warm weather. That said, unfortunately for warm weather lovers, that unseasonable weather is ending very soon.
This weekend, the warm weather will be out of much of Michigan. A strong cold front is heading into lower Michigan on Friday (Nov. 11), according to the National Weather Service. While much of lower Michigan will hit 60, or close to it, on Friday, but Saturday, we’re looking at highs in the lower 40s and even upper 30s. Yes, that’s highs.
By Sunday, most areas of lower Michigan including Lansing, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Flint, will see lows in the 20s. That’s going to feel brutally cold after the long warm spell we’ve experienced. Get out those winter coats.
Some snow is expected this weekend as well. According to the National Weather Service, lake-effect snow will scatter snow across the west part of the state. This snow is not expected to last long, though, because the warm weather we’ve experience has warmed up the ground. Regardless, it hurts my head to think that we’re going to see snow – even inches, in areas directly off Lake Michigan – right after weeks of near-bikini weather. Enjoy your final hours of warmth tonight and tomorrow before winter moves in.
