Michigan Going from Freezing to Spring-Like Temperatures Soon
Michigan experienced a very mild January, and then, suddenly, the snow and cold hit. This week, much of Michigan is seeing temperatures that are near zero and wind chills even below zero. It’s a shock to the system, since it was fairly warm for so long. So, when will it end?
As it turns out, much of Michigan is expected to get a semi-heat wave soon. I’m so happy to hear that. I’m already counting down the days until spring, which starts on March 20, by the way. Read on for the details on when and where this warmup will happen.
The super cold temperatures are going to last through late this week, but then, something magical will happen. You guessed it: Temperatures are going to rise to a point where they’re much warmer than normal.
Looking at lower Michigan’s forecast for the next several weeks, and basically throughout February, the weather is projected to be warmer than average or even much warmer than average for much of the month. According to the extended forecast on Weather.com, Detroit will hit 45 on Tuesday (Feb. 7) and remain around 40 or warmer through mid-February. The rest of lower Michigan has a similar trend, with Lansing and Grand Rapids both projected to reach 42 on Tuesday and hover around 40, or higher, through mid-February. It’s not bikini weather yet, but the 40s sound great compared to the sub-zero temperatures Michigan has been experiencing. But, the bitterly cold temperature last through the end of this week, so continue to bundle up and stay safe.
