So many of my friends are addicted to the Food Network. They simply love watching all the shows and salivating over the good eats. Here in Michigan, we have plenty of restaurants that have been featured on the network. That's because we simply rock.
So, what's the No. 1 best Michigan restaurant that has been featured on The Food Network's hit show, Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive Ins, And Dives?" The crew at Mashed.com has done the homework.
"There's a solid chance any time you turn on Food Network that you're gonna see Guy Fieri and his spiky hair headed to Flavortown on 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,'" they state. "The show has filmed nearly 40 seasons. That means visiting more than 1,250 restaurants around the country along the way (via dinersdriveinsandivelocations.com). So it's safe to say that Guy Fieri has seen — and tasted — it all. And you can taste it all too, if you've got a big appetite and you're willing to do some traveling."
So, what's tops in our state? Union Woodshop in Clarkston. Of the spot, Mashed.com writes, "Something you learn watching Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is that great barbecue can be found in the most unlikely places. This is true in Michigan, where Union Woodshop, about an hour outside Detroit, is now wowing more than just the locals. Guy Fieri was introduced to this place by none other than Kid Rock, and the rockstar local brought the chain national attention." They add to try out "The Porker." That offers a "freshly ground pork patty, house-made Michigan maple bacon, a house-made hot link, pickled chilis, Woodshop cold smoked cheddar cheese, and something called South Carolina mayo. And if you have any room left after devouring that monstrosity, go for the mind-blowing Maple Bourbon Sundae, which features a Jim Beam sauce poured over house-made liquid nitrogen ice cream." "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives," hosted by Guy Fieri on the Food Network, is one of the most popular shows for food lovers. There's just something super entertaining about Fieri, and the show is so fun to watch. What's extra cool is that Fieri has come to Michigan multiple times and picked local restaurants to highlight on the show.
TVFoodmaps.com has compiled a full directory of all the restaurants that have appeared on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Think of this as a list of spots every Michigan food lover should visit. Some of these restaurants are familiar to me, like Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger, while others I are not. My parents actually live just a few miles from Zaytoon Mediterranean in Lansing, Michigan, and I had no idea they were featured on the show until now. They do have some great Miditerranean food. Which are your favorite Michigan spots that you think should be featured on the show? Reach out to me on social media and give me some recommendations!
In total, Fieri has highlights 16 different Michigan restaurants on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." What can I say- we have some great eating spots here! View the full list of Michigan restaurants featured on the show below, and make sure to visit them at some point. View the full list here.
