When you're talking fears in Michigan, as it turns out, we have some pretty unique ones. I, personally, have always been scared of clowns. I realize that's a pretty common fear, but it's not the No. 1 biggest phobia in Michigan.

The crew at BetMichigan.com has put together a list of the most common phobias in Michigan. To conduct the study, BetMichigan.com analyzed web searches "around all things 'phobias', to reveal what were the most searched for over the last 12 months." They added that an estimated 9.1% of Americans currently having some form of phobia.

According to the study, the No. 1 phobia in Michigan is Trypophobia, which is "the fear of clustered patterns of irregular holes." They add that it's "a phobia interestingly not categorized as an official phobia around the world." So weird. Maybe it has something to do with the potholes that we have in Michigan? I don't know, but that's very strange. Coming in at No. 2 is Thalassophobia, the fear of oceans, with 56,640 searches. Claustrophobia, which is the fear of closed spaces, is No. 3. A new study reveals that Michigan has one of the best cities for Black families in America. That's great news for any Black family looking to make a permanent residence in the Great Lakes State.

The study comes from ThatSister.com, which calls itself a site that provides "fun and interesting articles for positive black people and fans of the culture."

In it, writer Shalante Tyson lists off 10 cities which are reportedly the best cities in the country for Black families. One of the top five cities, actually, is right here in Michigan, and it might not be the city that you expect. 5. San Antonio, Texas

ThatSister.com states that San Antonio, Texas, is "surprisingly diverse." They also mention that there's a lot to do there, since it hosts plenty of festivals and more than 50 large events a year.

4. Lansing, Michigan

Here we are on the list. Lansing, Michigan, was named the No. 4 best place for Black families in America. The article even says that Lansing is one of the best places for Black families in the world. I grew up in Lansing and I do love the diversity of the town.

3. Richmond, Virginia

Richmond, Virginia, is the No. 3 best place for Black families in America, according to this study. The story mentions that Richmond has plenty of great schools for both elementary and middle school students among other benefits of the town.

2. Orlando, Florida

Sure, Orlando, Florida, is known as the home of Walt Disney World. But, it's apparently also the second best city for Black families in America. The article mentions that it has a developing housing market and great jobs, too.

1. Raleigh, North Carolina

Drum roll! Raleigh, North Carolina, is the No. 1 city in America for Black families, according to ThatSister.com. They mention that it's a diverse city with a low unemployment rate, good job possibilities and great schools. For that reason and more, it's No. 1.
