One of the most difficult decisions parents have to make is picking their baby's name. Some parents go for more trendy names or maybe even names inspired by a relative. So, what are the most popular baby names in Michigan?

Recently, Names.org released its list of the top baby names for 2023. They gathered popular names for boys and girls in each state. In Michigan, they said that parents often choose modern baby names such as Ali and Keegan for boys and Alaina and Mya for girls.

When it comes to the most popular baby names in Michigan, Oliver tops the list for boy names, followed by Noah and Henry. Charlotte tops the list for girl names, followed by Amelia and Olivia.

For the past five years, the names Olivia, Charlotte, and Ava have made the popular girl name list. As far as boy names are concerned, Noah, Oliver, and Liam have been the most popular for the past five years, according to their list.

Also highlighted on the list are names more unique to Michigan. Names including Jack, Levi, Hudson, Eleanor, Harper, and Nora are not predicted to be in the national top 10 names of 2023.

Since 1880, the Social Security Administration has published the totals for the first names from all Social Security card applications for U.S. births. Because the Social Security Administration can take some time to compile data on the most popular baby names for each year, Names.org used data on the actual births in recent years to predict the most popular baby names of 2023.
