First-Ever International Fireworks Competition Coming To Michigan
Traverse City Tourism dropped some exciting news. They’re hosting the first-ever International Fireworks Championship at Turtle Creek Stadium in Traverse City on September 9th. This event is inspired by similar competitions in Europe, Canada, and Mexico.
The International Fireworks Championship in Traverse City will feature four epic shows, where teams from the U.S., Mexico, Spain, and Germany will battle it out for the ultimate prize. Each team has earned their spot by triumphing in similar competitions.
The competitors will light up the sky with their extravagant fireworks displays during this event. They are all choreographed to music. These performances will be judged by a panel of experts, scoring every boom and burst of the fireworks. The competitors will face specific guidelines that will push their creativity and artistic skills to the limit. And the public will have the ultimate say in determining the winner of this thrilling competition.
“It gives people another great reason to come to Traverse City.”
“The International Fireworks Championship will be unlike anything this area has seen,” said Traverse City Tourism President Trevor Tkach. “The competition is tough. It’s taking typical Fourth of July fireworks and adding elements of artistry to a competitive challenge – this will bring new meaning to live entertainment in northern Michigan. It gives people another great reason to come to Traverse City.”
While the specifics of the fireworks championship are still being ironed out, rest assured it will be an event the whole family can enjoy. Leading up to the competition at nightfall, there will be fantastic entertainment to keep everyone entertained.
Fireworks competitions are a rare treat in the United States, with only a few taking place, and the closest one being held in Missouri. Keep an eye out for ticket information, as this competition will be a ticketed event. The organizers will release more details once they are fully confirmed and finalized.
