You stroll into a fast food restaurant, eagerly anticipating a meal satisfying your hunger and leaving you in a happy food coma. But alas, reality smacks you in the face as you take your first bite. The food is lukewarm, the service is lackluster, and your taste buds are sorely disappointed. We've all been there, haven't we? Those moments when fast-food restaurants manage to turn our excitement into sheer dissatisfaction.

Fast food is a world of quick bites and on-the-go meals. But let's face it, not everyone walks away with a smile. Some take their dissatisfaction to a whole new level, venting their frustrations on social media by creating complaint pages on Facebook and other platforms.

ScrapeHero, a comprehensive data company, recently conducted an extensive analysis of McDonald's restaurants across the United States. Their findings found that there are over 13,000 McDonald's locations nationwide, with 531 locations in Michigan.

Unfortunately, Michigan is home to the ultimate loser in the McDonald's popularity contest. According to the site’s study, they've discovered that one of Michigan's very own McDonald's locations has snagged the title of the worst-rated McDonald's in America. Their study is based on location reviews and ratings from over 16.06 million customers of all McDonald’s locations.

The Worst-Rated McDonald's Location

It turns out that the McDonald's spot at 22333 E. 9 Mile Rd. in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, has landed itself the unfortunate title of having the lowest ratings of any McDonald's in the entire United States. Now, don't mix it up with the McDonald's at 31255 Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores, which seems to have fared better in the rating game. Out of the 1859 customer reviews, the McDonald's location on E. 9 Mile Rd. in St. Clair Shores, managed to scrape together an average rating of just 2.3 out of 5.

Yelp Reviews

The Yelp reviews back up the site’s claim. “This is the worst McDonald's I have ever been too [sic]!!! I waited 55 mins for a 4 piece nuggets and a frozen lemonade,” wrote a Hazel Park reviewer. Another reviewer from the St. Clair Shores area said they would give the location zero stars if possible. “The driverhru is like waiting for molasses to pour on a cold day. The food is stale, moldy and cold,” they wrote.

When it comes to the worst-rated McDonald's locations, there are a few cities that also fall on the list. Euclid, OH, Elkhart and Middlebury, IN, and Newman, GA, McDonald's spots have managed to land themselves in the bottom ranks.

The Best-Rated McDonald's Location

If you want to know which McDonald's locations managed to snag the top spots in customer ratings, the crown for the best-rated McDonald's in the U.S. goes to Calexico, CA. Specifically, the one located at 720 Imperial Ave. with a 4.2 rating. Not too far behind, sitting comfortably at number 2, is the McDonald's located at 6875 Sandlake Rd. in Orlando, Florida with a 4.0 rating.

Take a closer look at the McDonald's spots that either shine brightly with customer satisfaction or struggle to meet expectations here.
