The Black American Music Association (BAMAssoc) and Georgia Entertainment Caucus (GEC) announced the Black Music Month Class of 2023 Inductees on Tuesday, June 20th. (Sources: GMA.org & Enspire.com)

The induction will be October 26th, 2023, in Atlanta, GA, with Mahalia Jackson, Magic Johnson, and Marvin Sapp, Queen Latifah, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Jermaine Dupri, and Dallas Austin as this year’s nominees.

The Black Music Month Induction awards artists, entertainers, and celebrities who have impacted both Black culture and their communities. Catherine Brewton, BMEWOF co-founder said, “This year’s inductees embody black excellence who individually have bodies of work that will remain impactful for generations to come.”

Previous inductees include Cicely Tyson, Ray Charles, and Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, Shirley Caesar and Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin and Donald Lawrence, BeBe and CeCe Winans.

Randi Myles is the mid-day host on Detroit’s Praise Network. Randi’s mom knew she was destined to be in some form of entertainment when even as a small child, she would pretend a pencil was a microphone and sing and charm family and friends. Later she would sing in church and college choirs. However, it wasn’t until she attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts, that Ms. Myles would find her true voice. Randi enjoys writing about the city of Detroit, faith, and the community.
