Street art is a creative way to represent a city's culture. It also can inspire the community. To appreciate this unique art form, USA Today's 10Best recently named the cities with the finest street art, and Detroit was one of them. Colorful street art embodies the hometown personality of the city. Locals feel a connection to it.

The ten cities identified in 10Best's list cover all corners of the country. Some of them display the original work of an artist native to the state. Others bring in famous street mural artists to create high-profile pieces.

Detroit Street Art Ranked #5

"Detroit’s Grand River Creative Corridor stands out as a highlight with nearly 100 murals between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Warren Avenue," 10Best states. In fact, Visit Detroit has an entire section on their website dedicated to guiding you through the city's murals. "Detroit is a city full of artists finding new outlets for their creative talents. In recent years, one of the most beautiful forms of creative expression used to celebrate Detroit has been through visual art in the form of murals," they explain.

Where Else To Find This Incredible Street Art

Local favorites include the Stevie Wonder mural by artist Richard Wilson. This is displayed outside the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts. You will find two of Arlin Graff's pieces in Detroit. A massive bird on Kercheval Avenue in West Village, and the other is of a tiger on Gratiot Avenue in Lafayette Park.

Ford Fireworks - Detroit

The highly anticipated 65th annual Ford Fireworks, brought to you by the Parade Company. This event is set to take place on Monday, June 26. Held on the Center Garage roof in Detroit, this annual fundraiser event is the perfect opportunity to gather with friends and family, enjoy delicious food and drink. Tickets for this event can be purchased online.

Kensington Metropark - Milford

Join thousands of people at Kensington Metropark in Milford on July 2nd for a night of fun and excitement under the stars. Don't forget to bring your Metroparks vehicle entry permit for just $40 annually (regular admission), $29 annually (seniors), or $10 for a daily pass.

Willow Metropark

Willow Metropark will host a family-friendly event on July 1. The festivities will kick off with live entertainment starting at 6 pm and a fireworks display at 9 pm. Entry is free with a Metroparks pass.

Fireworks, music, food, and family fun at the Red, White, & Blues event in Highland. Mark your calendars for June 24th, when the fireworks will be launched at dusk from the field located at the corner of M-59 and John Street. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to June 25th, ensuring that the festivities go on rain or shine.

Cars Under The Stars - Pontiac

Fireworks and automotive excitement at the 6th Annual Cars Under the Stars Fireworks Spectacular presented by Coca-Cola! On June 25, head over to M1 Concourse and park your car for a front-row seat to the show. The fireworks display scheduled to start at 9:45 PM. This event also features live entertainment on stage, a range of family activities, food trucks, and even craft beer.

Salute To America - Dearborn

This summer, you can stroll through Greenfield Village at your own pace, enjoying live music performances along the way. And when dusk sets in, a fireworks finale will kick off. Accompanied by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on the Village Green. It's happening from June 30 to July 3 at Greenfield Village in Dearborn.

Lake Orion Lions Club Jubilee Fireworks

It's the grand finale of the Lake Orion Jubilee in Downtown Lake Orion. This 4-day carnival extravaganza offers something for everyone, including carnival rides, games, a beer tent, and live entertainment. On Saturday, June 24, at 10 p.m., prepare to be dazzled by a fireworks show that will light up the night sky. In case of rain, the Jubilee fireworks have a rain date set for Sunday, June 25.

Riverview Summerfest

Wrapping up the Riverview Summerfest at Young Patriots Park in Riverview is a fireworks display. There will be a carnival, beer tent, classic car show, and live music. At dusk the fireworks finale will kick on. This event will take place on June 17.
