The cost of college is always going up and is unattainable for many Americans. Affordable schools are more in demand than ever. And according to Money Magazine, some colleges and universities in Michigan offer a combination of excellent quality and affordability. They published rankings that assess 736 colleges nationwide based on various factors such as tuition fees, financial aid, alumni salaries, and more. The institutions were given ratings from one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best value.

Among the Michigan universities, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor received a five-star rating as one of America's Best Colleges, according to the magazine. The ranking states that an in-state student at UM costs $103,600 before considering student and federal aid. The university boasts a high graduation rate of 93%, which is one of the highest among public universities nationally. Additionally, the alumni salaries at UM are above average, as stated in the ranking. The magazine describes the University of Michigan as having a vibrant and proud community due to its excellence in various aspects.
