The 2023 Emmy Awards have officially been postponed due to the ongoing writer and actor strikes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the original air date of September 18 is “no longer in consideration,” per an Emmy source. However, a new broadcast date has yet to be determined. The Television Academy and Fox, who is airing the ceremony, are currently in talks about a new date.

The Hollywood Reporter notes the last time the Emmy Awards were postponed was shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. At that time, the ceremony was rescheduled for November 2001.

Despite the postponement of the Emmy Awards this year, voting for the awards will continue. The voting window for Television Academy voters opens on August 17.
