If you read any of my content or listen to my podcast, "The Squad," you know that I'm a fan of Jared Goff. I think he's an incredible fit for the Detroit Lions. He's got great chemistry with the team, and he's not a selfish guy. On the field, he seems to treat everyone with respect, but he still has the confidence and grit to lead. Yes, Jared Goff is a leader, I believe. One of his recent quotes helps explain why.

Goff recently appeared on Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take" podcast. On there, he was asked about his feelings about offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. It's no secret that the two get along very well. According to Goff, Johnson  trusts him and gives him the power to really lead the team and offense.

Jared Goff is a leader

On the show, Goff said, "I think he he allows for me personally to kind of be creative and I get a lot of decision making capabilities at the line of scrimmage. He puts a lot in my hands, a lot on my plate and allows me to play quarterback and and really direct the offense." It's great to see Goff taking that kind of leadership position with the team.

What's more, Goff said that he thinks the tough, aggressive attitude of Johnson and head coach Dan Campbell has helped the team. I mean, Detroit is a tough town. Of course, the Detroit Lions are going to be an aggressive bunch. Goff says that's the right attitude, and that's helping the offense take shape. "He's very aggressive," Goff said of Johnson. He added, " Obviously Dan (Campbell's) very aggressive. We kind of take on that personality as an offense, and being able to do creative things that are actually sound and good, football is a lot of fun."
