Michigan Restaurant Named One Of America’s Brewpubs
When you think of the perfect brewpub, craft beer, handheld food, and a circle of friends typically come to mind. USA Today‘s 10Best recently named the best brewpubs around the country that exemplify these qualities, and a Michigan pub was named.
A requirement for these establishments is that they must “serve their own house beers — often alongside guest taps or cans,” and offer “a menu of tasty food options.”
Before we swing open the doors of this local watering hole, let’s further examine what differentiates a classic brewpub.
Beer and Brewing defines it by saying, “The Brewpub is a modern business model for an ancient practical concept: serving and selling beer on the premises where it is brewed.” Furthermore, a standard brewpub is essentially a hybrid between a restaurant and a brewery. These places have a hometown and local feel. Often they are named after a person or place relevant to the geographical location. Lastly, the menu pairs well with the beers they offer. Whether that’s a juicy burger, salad, or shared appetizer, the theme centers around sharing a good time. Over a pint, of course.
The Michigan restaurant that is one of the best brewpubs is about 40 miles outside of Detroit.
Salt Springs Brewery
Located in Saline, Michigan, at 117 S Ann Arbor St, Salt Springs Brewery sits within an old church. The interior has “beautiful stained glass windows that create a unique and inviting atmosphere.”
Of the beer selection 10Best says, “Diners will find a diverse tap list, with beers made from locally malted grains and Michigan hops.”
The beer menu at Salt Springs is extensive. There are currently 12 different drafts on tap. In addition, ciders, craft cocktails, and drinks made especially to pair with brunch are also available.
There are then plenty of farm-t0-table food options. There are also burgers, sandwiches, and eight different appetizers. Finally, another differentiator is that they offer higher-end plates as well. Sirloin specialties and market fish dishes are among the options.

Along with the stunning residences, these areas offer top-notch services like private schools, exclusive clubs, and upscale shopping centers. Safety is a priority too, with gated communities, private security, and advanced security systems ensuring peace of mind. Of course, you can’t forget about wealthy areas flooded with well-kept parks, golf courses, and country clubs. But what is the wealthiest county in Michigan?
A recent study by SmartAsset shows the wealthiest counties in the U.S. To figure out which counties are rolling in the dough, they looked at investment income, property value, and how much cash each person is raking in on average.
“We started the analysis by calculating the Investment Index for each county by evenly weighing the Ordinary Dividends, Qualified Dividends, and Net Capital Gains. From there, we calculated the Median Home Value and the Per Capita Income for each county, and ranked them on all three metrics,” SmartAsset wrote.
The study revealed that Leelanau County, nestled near Traverse City and known for its wineries along the Lake Michigan coast, takes the crown as Michigan’s wealthiest county. With its picturesque Leelanau Peninsula and a population of approximately 23,000, this small northern Michigan county has the highest per-capita wealth in the state. Nationally, Leelanau County had an overall rank of 266.
