It's hard to believe, but summer is starting to wind down. Thankfully, there's still plenty of time left to enjoy marvelous views and food at Michigan restaurants across the state. We're really lucky in Michigan, because we have a lot of water, from inland lakes to the Great Lakes, as well as restaurants that are off the water. If you're in the mood for a delicious dinner that's coupled with glorious views off the water, here are some Michigan restaurants to try.

A Michigan Restaurant with Marvelous Views and Food

The experts at Pure Michigan are the epicenter of travel and tourism in this state. "Memorable dining is often about the Pure Michigan view you can pair with the cuisine," they note. Pure Michigan has put together a tally of some of the best Michigan restaurants to find marvelous food and views. I'll share their top pick, as well as a spot on their tally that I've dined at before.

The No. 1 Michigan restaurant they love is for dining and looking at the water is Fitzgerald's Hotel and Restaurant in Eagle River, Michigan. This spot is off Lake Superior. "Whether you dine on the patio or at an interior seat with a window view, you're just steps away from the Lake Superior waves," Pure Michigan notes of their marvelous views. "Savor the Pitmaster's Pie of smoked brisket, pork and vegetables, baked in a wine sauce and topped with mashed potatoes, or the savory ribs that make up the dish named Douglas Houghton's Anchor." If you want to dine at Fitzgerald's Hotel and Restaurant, you should make a reservation online. The restaurant notes that "tables next to the window are assigned on a first come, first serve basis only. Also, if you're looking to book a large party, they note that, "in order to offer the best service that we can, our party size is limited to eight people, and we reserve the right to not seat multiple reservations made to exceed that limit."

One other Pure Michigan pick is a place for marvelous views and food that I've been to several times: The English Inn, Restaurant and Pub, in Eaton Rapids. That was always the cool spot to go to for prom, when I was in high school. It's beautiful and has very gourmet food. "Cozy is the hallmark of this restaurant and inn, where you can warm yourself by a crackling fire while gazing over what feels like the grounds of your private castle estate," Pure Michigan notes. The views here are spectacular. Contact me with your favorite places to eat and enjoy a beautiful view in Michigan.
