Sadly, a favorite Michigan burger restaurant is closing its doors. It's safe to say that pretty much everyone loves a good burger. Even if you're a vegetarian, like me, there's something special about a great veggie burger. Even thought it's sad to hear that this special place is closing, they're still open for a few more days, so you still have a little bit of time to experience this place.

Michigan Burger Spot Will Close

A favorite Michigan burger restaurant, the Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen in Old Town, Lansing, is permanently closing. "The Creole is a chef-driven, gourmet burger bar and southern kitchen locations in Old Town Lansing," they explain on their official Facebook page.

"Friends, it has been a great 10 year run, but our lease is expiring and we'll be shaking our last cocktails and powdering our last beignets this Sunday, September 29," the restaurant posted on Facebook. "Join us this week for dinner (today through Saturday) or brunch (Thursday through Sunday) and Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler one last time."

They didn't elaborate on any other reasons for the Michigan burger spot closing, but locals took to social media to comment and send their well wishes. "I had a fun few years working here starting before it was the burger bar and it was fine dining up until the pandemic. I met a TON of great people while working here also, including my now husband," one commenter wrote. Another added, "Found this place when my wife had to be in Lansing for a licensing exam. Came back twice more for different tests. A true gem of a creole/Cajun restaurant. We're bummed. We live in Canton, Ohio."

If you make it to this spot before they close, note that all of their burgers and sandwiches are served with Cajun fries, which makes it extra special. Also, you can upgrade to a Beyond Meat Vegetarian Patty for a $3 upcharge. you can also make it a double house grind patty for $5 more. Also, one of their most popular dishes is simply the classic burger, which is a house grind, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and onion. It's simple but delicious. It's definitely sad to see this staple go after 10 years, but thanks to the Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen for a decade of delicious burgers. I always like to stay informed about the latest restaurant closings and openings in Michigan. Contact me on social media if any of your favorite places are opening or closing.
