If you're someone who grew up a Detroit sports fan, like me, maybe you agree that it's a great time to be a Detroit sports fan. Of course, this isn't the first time Detroit sports has seen greatness. The Red Wings have 11 Stanley Cup titles to their name, the Tigers have won four World Series Championships, the Pistons have won three National Championships and the Lions had the Barry Sanders era. So, it's been a great ride, but right now somehow seems like the perfect time to embrace what it is to be a Detroit sports fan.

Everyone is Buzzing About the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Sports

The Detroit Tigers snagged their spot in the playoffs on Friday (Sept. 27), making dreams come true in the Motor City. I'm much more of a football follower than baseball, but even I can feel the excitement from everything in Detroit with the Tigers' late-season winning streak.

"I love it. I love the game, I love these guys, I love this group of team. The guys that we've got in here, they are incredible and our staff is great, the support staff is awesome," added Detroit pitcher Tarik Skubal per Bally Sports Detroit.

"Special teams do special things and we’ve got an opportunity to do something special. … When I asked you in the middle of the season what kind of team do you want to be, I guess you wanted to be a playoff team," added Tigers manager A. J. Hinch after the Friday win.

Then, there's the Detroit Lions. They just beat the Seattle Seahawks for the first time since 2012. It was a heck of a game, too, with plenty of records being broken for the Lions. Talented quarterback Jared Goff scored his first career touchdown and a perfect 18-18 game, while equally talented edge Aidan Hutchinson had a career-high 10 pressures, the most pressures by any player in a game in the NFL this season, per the NFL. Will the Red Wings and Pistons also deliver this season? We can only hope. Either way, it's been a lot of ups and downs for Detroit sports fans, and if you're a longtime fan like I am, it's time to enjoy this wild ride. We deserve it. The teams are working hard to deliver, and it's so exciting to watch. I love our Detroit sports teams and can't wait to see how the next few months progress. Contact me with your thoughts.
