A fresh path to higher education opened up at Wayne State University. Their new "Warriors on the Rise" program now grants admission to Detroit Public Schools students who reach set academic goals. Local teens can map their way to a college degree with clear steps ahead.
High school juniors and seniors who keep steady grades and finish required credits can join. Each teen pairs with a peer who shows them the ropes.
Students tour the campus to see what college feels like. They peek into labs, sit in on classes, and picture their future here. This hands-on approach helps kids see themselves as future college students.
As part of Michigan's University Research Corridor with MSU and U-M, Wayne State's impact runs deep. Together, these schools pumped $23.9 billion into the state's growth last year.
With 13 colleges and schools inside its walls, Wayne State stands tall in Detroit's heart. Students pick from 375 paths of study - from first-time degrees to the highest levels of learning. Some programs take just months, while others span years of deep study.
Through this new program, they can help lift up local kids and build tomorrow's leaders.
