Construction crews have squeezed I-75 traffic to two lanes in each direction between Baldwin and Clarkston Roads. The work will keep many ramps shut until autumn's end, state road officials said, as reported by The Oakland Press.

Workers blocked off part of Saginaw Road/Dixie Highway on October 3 to fix culverts, as announced by the Michigan government. The south section from the state's carpool area to McClelland Road opens again October 6.

With these closures, cars must take different paths. One option winds west on Baldwin, south on Holly, then east on Grange Hall to reach I-75 and Dixie Highway. Drivers can also head west on Baldwin and push north on Holly to get to I-75.

The state won't reopen four key exits heading south until late fall. These blocked exits are 106 to Dixie Highway/Saginaw Road, 98 to East Holly Road, 93 to US-24, and 91 to M-15, as per The Oakland Press.

The project has also blocked eight entrance ramps through autumn. Closed spots include the path from East Holly Road to north I-75, the north route from Grand Blanc Township's Dixie Highway to I-75 north, plus various ways to reach south I-75 from Saginaw Road, Grange Hall Road, East Holly Road, US-24, and M-15.

This massive fix stretches across I-75's north and south sides from M-15 to where two counties touch. Workers aim to finish this year's tasks by early November.

Road crews will pull out the temporary lane shifts and put the final touches on the work in 2026. This marks the end of a long effort to fix the northern Oakland County freeway.
