Detroit City Distillery plans its first Fall Fair at the new 100 Proof location this Oct. 18. The free outdoor bash runs Saturday from noon to 7 p.m., right beside their Whiskey Factory in Eastern Market.
Visitors can jump into fall fun with hayrides through the market district. Kids and grown-ups can get creative at pumpkin carving stations, while the brave can test their appetites in fast-paced pie-eating showdowns.
"There's nothing we love more than bringing people together over great drinks and great company," said J.P. Jerome, master distiller and co-owner of Detroit City Distillery, according to Spectrum Local News. "Our goal with this huge event is to provide Detroiters with all the fun of the season right in our city."
100 Proof, their newest spot in Eastern Market, hosts its first major public celebration. A spine-chilling haunted butcher shop awaits thrill-seekers, while classic carnival games offer prizes to skilled players.
Food trucks will line the street. Big Black Food Trailer will serve up gumbo and wings, while Country Smokehouse brings their famous barbecue. Mocha Coffee offers hot drinks, Mutzie's Kitchen dishes out comfort food, and Bees in the D sells sweet treats. Bartenders will create special drinks as the Michigan-Washington game plays on outdoor screens.
October in Detroit kicks into high gear with this fair. Just across town, Beacon Park throws its Fall After Dark party the same night. Beer fans can wait for the Detroit Fall Beer Festival, which starts Oct. 25.
