Libraries will host programs throughout February 2026, as per Little Guide Detroit. Events focus on Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, and Black History Month. Over 20 library systems have planned hundreds of activities for kids and families.

Royal Oak Public Library will run Colorful Chemistry programs for kids ages 3 to 5 on February 3.

Troy Public Library will throw a Lunar New Year Celebration on February 17 and K-Pop Party events on February 28. Canton Public Library will show a Lit Lab Productions performance, titled "We Don't Lose Our Class Goldfish," on February 23.

Priority Health and Detroit PBS have teamed up with Detroit Public Library to install Calming Stations in six locations. Each station includes a Yoto Listening Player with meditation audio cards, games, and sensory toys, as per Little Guide Detroit. A whiteboard lets kids describe what they're feeling.

Black History Month programs will take place at many spots across the area. Dearborn Public Library will host "Foods Invented by African Americans" on February 2. Mount Clemens Public Library has planned "Taste of Soul" for ages 12 and up on February 20.

STEAM and LEGO programs appear throughout the area. Howell Carnegie District Library will offer Wind Turbines for grades 3 through 8 on February 16. Plymouth District Library will hold "Discovering Dinosaur Adaptations" on February 28, as shared by Little Guide Detroit

Gaming and tech events include chess clubs, Dungeons & Dragons sessions, and coding classes at different branches. Bloomfield Township Library will host an After-Hours Family Fort Night on February 6. West Bloomfield Public Library has booked a visit from The Reptarium on February 16.

Valentine's Day programs include craft activities, ice skating events, and themed story times. Farmington Community Library will hold a Valentine Ice Skate at Riley Ice Skate Rink on February 14.
