Metro Detroit boasts well over a dozen Irish pubs where people can raise a glass on St. Patrick's Day or drop by anytime, as per Hour Detroit. You'll find them scattered through Corktown, Eastern Market, Greektown, and out into the suburbs.

The Gaelic League/Irish American Club sits right on the parade route along Michigan Avenue in Corktown. Membership runs just $25 a year, and they welcome anyone regardless of ancestry. Come St. Patrick's Day, tents go up and musicians play.

Nancy Whiskey has poured drinks in Corktown since 1904. Over in Eastern Market, Thomas Magee's stocks Irish, Scotch, and American whiskey. They kick off mornings with watch parties when soccer matches air.

The Old Shillelagh throws parties every Saturday in Greektown. St. Patrick's Day cranks things up with bands and cheap shots flowing.

Brothers Tom and Brian Dunleavy have run Dunleavy's Food & Spirits in Allen Park for over 50 years. O'Mara's Restaurant holds down its spot on 12 Mile in Berkley, raising money for youth groups and sports teams while surviving fires, road work, and the passing years.

Dick O'Dow's draws neighborhood regulars and sports fans to Birmingham with craft brews and college game screenings. John Cowley & Sons in Farmington shows off wood accents and hosts live music, pulling in Irish families from around town.

Danny's Irish Pub in Ferndale keeps prices down on pints. Irish Coffee Bar & Grill sits on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Farms, dishing out burgers and other pub food.

Sullivan's Public House opened its doors in Oxford back in 2014. They cook traditional dishes, including the Full Irish Breakfast. Sean O'Callaghan's Public House in Plymouth features woodwork, stained glass, and pictures of Irish writers hanging on the walls. Every Wednesday, the Irish Music Institute runs a session there.

Pat O'Brien's Tavern has fed St. Clair Shores customers seafood and shepherd's pie since 1948. Michigan craft beers sit on the menu next to Irish imports.

Gus' Snug opened in Clawson in 2023 after co-owner Dimitry Goyfman and contractor Joe Morris flew to Ireland. They modeled it after Belfast pubs in Northern Ireland. O'Connor's Public House started serving Rochester in 2005 and has kept going for over 20 years now. Goyfman and his business partner Kevin VanDyke run that one.
