2012 Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Detroit music legend Norman Thrasher 84 years old is being evicted from his home after 35 years

Norman Thrasher a member of the Detroit Entertainment Commission, who rose to fame being a bass singer as a member of Hank Ballard and The Midnighters and The Royal Jokers. Landlord told him he has 30 days to get out after 35 years due to all his musical memorabilia and awards that is in his home.

Detroit, MI, United States, January 23, 2017- 2012 Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and a former member of the world-renowned Detroit R&B group Hank Ballard & The Midnighters. Norman Thrasher, was told by the 36 District Court on January 17, 2018 that he must vacate where he has called home since 1982 to be out by February 18, 2018.
Thrasher, said yesterday from his home, I will be 85 years old in June and I was not looking to move after all these years and in the dead of the winter. Thrasher, added that he could understand if he was not paying his rent and behind, but for 35 years I never miss a rent payment, but I am not being evicted for not paying my rent, but I am being evicted for having to much musical memorabilia, music awards and books, that I have received and collected over my 60 years of being in the entertainment music business. 5 months ago the landlord said I had to much junk and she thinks it would be best if I moved, I was thinking she was just joking after 35 years wow.

I will be so embarrassed if I can’t pack up all of my things and find a place by February 21, and to see my things I worked so hard for to be put in the street. At this point I don’t have a place to move to and I need more time to find a place to take all my belongings and memorabilia. I hope after 60 years of knowing superstars like Aretha Franklin, Berry Gordy, Little Richard, and working for Joe Tex, The Spinners and the late great boxing legend Muhammad Ali, I hope someone has a heart and reaches out to help me.
