The Detroit Phoenix Center will celebrate its one-year anniversary as an asset based resource center that provides drop in services to teens and young adults who are at risk or currently experiencing homelessness.  There will be free food, haircuts and prizes for all youth and young adults in attendance. During the one-year anniversary celebration attendees will be able to tour the current facility space and get a sneak peek into the developing R.I.S.E Emergency Youth Shelter.

Additionally, Thursday, February 1 is the Unsheltered Point-In Time (PIT) Count day.  The PIT Count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered people who are experiencing homelessness.  The Detroit Phoenix Center is aiming to count the number of youth in Detroit experiencing homelessness and connect them to resources.

Transportation assistance for youth and young adults who wish to attend the event is available and will be provided by Lyft.
