Cantrell Funeral Home on Mack Avenue closed by state inspectors

DETROIT – As reported by WDIV, “Decomposing remains and “deplorable conditions” were among the violations that led state inspectors” to shut down the Detroit funeral home.

The conditions at the Cantrell Funeral Home on Mack Ave. left inspectors in complete awe. State officials said bodies were stored in a garage, according to the owner Robert Cantrell, so that the smell would not linger in the funeral home but other decomposing remains were sitting on tables, possibly for months.
