Mildred Gaddis, along with MD, MPH and Vice Dean of Wayne State Medical School Herbert Smitherman Jr. and Associate Director for Community Communications at Wayne State University Darrell Dawsey discuss the Wayne State School of Medicine’s post-baccalaureate program, which provides paths to medical school for students of color from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Smitherman also explains a study he conducted that was published in the book “Healing Our Divided Society: Investing in America Fifty Years After the Kerner Report”, which explores strategies to reduce poverty, inequality, and racial injustice in the U.S.
