Misty Copeland Turns 36 Today!

Misty Copeland, an award winning ballet dancer most known for becoming the first African-American woman to be promoted to principal dancer at the infamous American Ballet Theatre celebrates her 36th birthday today. Copeland is also notable for her work with Prince throughout his career, most famously in the music video “Crimson and Clover” as well as appearing with the artist throughout his tours. She has also appeared as a guest judge on hit shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” and “World of Dance”.’

Most recently, Copeland authored a memoir titled “Life In Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina” in 2014. In 2017 she released her third book “Ballerina Body” a health and fitness guide. And In November she will have a significant role in the Disney remake “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” as the lead ballerina.
