Six-time WNBA All Star, Maya Moore announced Tuesday that she will be taking her talents to a new field. In an article on the Player’s Tribune she stated that she has decided to sit the 2019 season out to focus on her family and “ministry dreams that have been stirring in my heart for many years.”
Moore has been a crucial player on the Minnesota Lynx. She has played in 271 of 272 regular season games since being selected by the Lynx with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft.
Moore did not speak on when she will return to the game but says, “my no for the 2019 pro season allows me to say yes to my family and faith family like I never have before.”
