WCSO Annual Field Day and Community Event
Officers Join Area Law Enforcement for Games, Life Skills & Family-Friendly Entertainment
On July 29, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will hold its annual Field Day event at Wayne State University’s athletic field (2100 W. Warren Avenue, Detroit, MI). The free event will showcase the talent, skills and acumen of sworn and civilian personnel.
Ø Track and Field (100 yard dash, 400 yard relay, mile run, and medley relay)
Ø Softball (co-ed)
Ø Basketball (3-on-3)
Ø Obstacle Course
Ø Mounted Unit
Ø Motor Unit
Ø Tug-of-War (males team and female team)
Along with the on-field display, officers will perform drills by the Mounted and Motor Units. The goal of this family-focused day is to provide the community with some insight into varied skills of the WCSO, in a festive environment. Kids will also enjoy face painting, DFD Clowns, DIA arts and Scraps, bounce houses, Child ID booth and prizes. There will be food, beverages, entertainment, and frozen treats & Bingo for seniors. The Mobile SOS Office (Michigan Secretary of State Mobile Office) will also be at this event.
