In this special Valentine’s Day Edition of the Thinking Out Loud Radio Show we are taking a behind the scenes look at the art of playwrighting from the professional playwright, author, speaker and CEO Vanessa Lynn. Vanessa has over 20 years of experience writing such plays as “Unequally Yoked,” “Boss Lady” & “Affairs just to name a few. She is a woman of influence that started from the bottom and is now at the top of her game writing, producing, and making moves in the kingdom. We are excited to have her on the show to discuss her experience writing plays as well as promoting her play “Unequally Yoked” which is showcasing Valentines Day weekend right here in Detroit at the Wayne State University Community Arts Auditorium. Listen to the show for more details.
Also, we plan on discussing our recent blog post entitled “Black History OR Blackface?” I am really confused about whether it is Black History month or is it Blackface Month. Has the month of February transcended into a racial parody of the Black Community? In this blog, we discuss the string of recent racially motivated and charged events that have been dominating the 24hr news cycle. from Gov. Ralph Northam of the Commonwealth of Virginia and his Atty General Mark Herring and their Blackface admissions to high-end fashion brands Gucci and Prada pulling their racist products off the shelves. This is prompted an immediate outcry and demands of boycotts and resignations, because of the blatant racism that is now front and center for the world to see. Something has to be done, and we plan to discuss that and a whole lot more on the next episode of the Thinking Out Loud Radio Show.
