Mr. Hill has an impressive resume of credentials spanning more than three decades. He started as a copy boy at The Detroit News — back in 1986. Over the years, James also has worked at the New York Times, Newsweek magazine and spent nearly 10 years in the newsroom of the Chicago Tribune in various capacities as a reporter and editor before coming home to the Detroit Free Press in February of 2000. In our interview, we discuss not just Detroit, but Michigan’s response to COVID-19; and what grade would you give Gov. Whitmer for her handling of this pandemic. We also discuss this year’s local election, the race for Govenor, and we even talk a little Detroit Sports. James also shares with us an intitative he recently started to change the narrative of how the country sees the City of Detroit called, “Detroit Is…” This is a media campaign that he has created to help change the narrative of how people see the City of Detroit.
