Today as we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, we would like to commemorate the Life, Legacy and the Literature of this great leader in this week’s episode. We are calling this week’s episode, “Remembering A King.” In this first segment we talk about the life of Dr. King and how his life impacted others. Courage, was one of Dr. King’s defining characteristics that help to shape the Civil Rights Movement of which he led. And, we ask the question, do Black people today possess the same courage and determination that our predecessors had during the 1960s?
And, then we talk about the legacy of Dr. King, and how the lives that he was able to touch are now touching others and this speaks to the magnitude of his greatness as one of America’s greatest leaders. In our 3rd and final segment, we discuss the literature of Dr. King, his books, speeches and sermons which is another way that Dr. King has left an indelible mark on the world.
PLUS, we have as this week’s thought one of Dr. King’s famous sermons entitled, “A Knock At Midnight.” This is indeed one of my favorite sermons that Dr. King has given over the span of his storied career as Black America’s moral leader. Again, tonight’s show is dedicated in its entirety to the life, and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and we look forward to your attentive ear as well as your feedback from this week’s show. Stay tuned!
