She is a passionate, poliltically engaged activist that hoping to make a historic run for Warren City Council as the first minority to serve on this capacity. If elected she has a plan to help the poor, the unemployed and underployed get the assistance and help they need to become productive members of society. Melody as a native Detroiter works in her community as an advocate for the Michigan’s unemployed and education. She is a leader in her Macomb and Wayne county communities, a guest speaker and mentor for DPS, Warren, and Metro Detroit students,
and also volunteered for the Pure Michigan – Mock Interview Program, and SER-Metro Detroit. In addition, she is strongly politically involved in her Macomb County community as a Chair for the Macomb County’s Official Democratic Black Caucus, co-chair for the Warren democrats and the Macomb County 9 th District democrats,Commissioner for the City of Warren Senior Housing, and was elected in 2016 as the 9 thDistrict Democratic Party Elector..
